A thing of beauty is a joy for ever, its loveliness increases, it will never pass into nothingness,

Bright star, would I were steadfast as thou art -
Not in lone splendour hung aloft the night
And watching, with eternal lids apart,
Like Nature's patient, sleepless Eremite,
The moving waters at their priestlike task
Of pure ablution round earth's human shores,
Or gazing on the new soft-fallen mask
Of snow upon the mountains and the moors -
No - yet still stedfast, still unchangeable,
Pillow'd upon my fair love's ripening breast,
To feel for ever its soft fall and swell,
Awake for ever in a sweet unrest,
Still, still to hear her tender-taken breath,
And so live ever - or else swoon to death

I am in love with a dead poet from the 1800's. John Keats, your words amaze me and inspire me. I am very much looking forward to watching Bright Star, the movie based around you and your life, tonight. That basically sums up my feelings. Much love, B x

art.

Unnerved exhibition, GOMA (Gallery of Modern Art), Brisbane.

Ghost Town exhibition, GOMA, Brisbane,

Ron Mueck exhibition, GOMA, Brisbane,

GOMA, Brisbane.

Truly, this was probably the best, and my most favourite visit to the Gallery of Modern Art in Brisbane so far. Every single exhibition featured in the gallery at the time, (late June) was marvelous.   I was originally only going to see Ron Mueck, but got caught up with everything else along the way.

The Unnerved exhibition was very modern, + exciting and I loved every minute of it!
The work of Ron Mueck was really amazing, my photography here doesn't do it justice! Nevertheless, his work is so life like and surreal, It really is hard to believe that someone sculptured the work entirely themselves.
The Ghost Town part in the Gallery was much fun, which makes sense really as it was meant for children. Building had been structured into a room but distorted in many ways. I loved the wallpaper in the photo showing, I wish I could have wallpaper in my room...
I particularly liked this phrase that was lined up parallel against one of the walls in the gallery. It left me with a feeling, I'm not quite sure what that feeling was, but it got to me, which I think is great, because a lot of the time, isn't that what art is supposed to do? Anyway with bodies morphed into letters made out of aluminium cans the phrase read-

'The route you take lies parallel to the words along these walls you slide along in search of that which might be said each step assured or bored or tremebling to discover finally that only that one foot had followed the other.'

I also visited the Hat Exhibition in the gallery opposite from this one. That in itself was amazing but unfortunately I was unable to take any photos. I am dying to go to the Tim Burton Exhibition in Melbourne before it ends... hopefully I will get the chance!
Has any of my lovely blog readers been to great art exhibitions lately??

Is a golden dawn where you’ll never be alone,

She was given up to the notion
Of temperate seas and Novascotian winters

And nights dreaming by the firelight
A solitary life, adrift upon the North Atlantic Ocean

Where she could find the time
To let the good times roll

For all those who know how it feels to be alone
Were you thrown to the lions

Skin and bone but not afraid of dying alone?
An old friend on the telephone

Still eyeing the prize of a solitary life
Where you could find the time

She was given to claims
‘Bout the state making gains.

Lyrics- Hungry Kids Of Hungary, Good Times.
Photos- A friend of mine took,
Model- Mwa!

How is everyone? I'm good... nearing the end of my school holidays which is sad though! These are some lovely pictures a close friend of mine took with me and my typewriter. My father found it at the local tip shop, and I got it for only $10! I love it.  Let me know what you have been up to...

I don't know what it is about the movie Hey Hey It's Esther Blueburger that made me like it so much. But I was so drawn to it that I watched it two times in a row! I really reccomend that you watch it. It's a weird kind of movie but that's what makes it interesting right? Anyone that doesn't consider themselves as normal will relate to it on so many levels. Oh and it is an Australian film :)
Has anyone else seen it?

my boy builds coffins,

My boy builds coffins with hammers and nails,
he doesn't build ships he has no use for sails.

My boy builds coffins for the rich and the poor,
Kings and Queens them all knocked on his door.

My boy builds coffins he makes them all day,
but it's not just for work and it isn't for play.

My boy builds coffins for better or worse,
some say it's a blessing some say it's a curse.

My boy builds coffins and I think it's a shame,
that when each ones been made he can't see them again.

Photos-Me. :)
Lyrics- Florence and the Machine.

I took these photos on an exursion down my street endeavouring to capture everyones curbside cleanups for my conceptual art assignment. My concern was 'junk' which soon turned into 'new life' and I quite enjoyed doing it. When you think about it, everyone labels anything that they think is no use to them anymore as 'junk', but really is it not just an object that has lost its use as one thing, but can be turned into another? It's about imagination. I havn't edited these photos at all, apart from some cropping and compressing, because I really liked how raw and organic they looked to begin with. Let me know what you think!

Also I have to apologise, yet again, for the huge delay in posting. I have had weeks of assignments and exams, however now I am free. Freedoms never felt so good.

What has everyone been up to?

Lots of love! B xx

you make my day,

“I can’t believe THAT!” said Alice.

“Can’t you?” said the Queen in a pitying tone. “Try again: draw a long breath, and shut your eyes.”

Alice laughed. “There’s no use trying,” she said, “one can’t believe impossible things.”

“I daresay you haven’t had much practice,” said the Queen. “When I was your age, I always did it for half-an-hour a day. Why sometimes I believed as many as six impossible things before breakfast!”

believe it, if you will, how much I enjoy your company on my blog <3

I heart little miso!

Little Miso has the cutest, jewelery I have seen in quite a while. I recently aquired one of these 'peepos' as a ring (I got the panda hat one) and I love it muchly! Most jewellery is beautifully crafted from wood, which my friends and I discovered today smells unbelievably yummy. Such a wintery, fireplace smell, which is just perfect! All of Janices Law's work is quite lovely and I suggest you check it out at her blog, website, or etsy. !

The year without you has gone so slowly,

Dear Winter,
I know you are really only one month away, but could you be coming any slower?
I mean, I am really prepared for you, I have bought boots, skivvies, coats, scarfs and tights and keep trying to wear them but alas, it is still to hot.
I miss the warm fires you bring with the hot chocolate and marshmellows. I miss the hot water bottles and layers and layers of clothes and blankets stacked on me at bed time. I miss your long hot showers and your porridge (only with honey and sultanas of course).
I am even willing to put up with the cold toilet seats that you bring and freezing tap water.
If you please, please come soon.
Lots of Love,
B
P.S- If it is possible, could you make it snow here too? Thanks,

Even if the moon fell down tonight, there'd be nothing to worry about at all because you make the whole world shine,

I love you. I love all of you so much. Thankyou for you beautiful comments!
My mother brought me home a very welcomed Frankie magazine today, and I so cannot wait to get my but off this computer and lie in bed and read it start to finish. I don't realise how much I miss it during the gaps between each one, until i finally get the next issue in my hands and even just the smell of it makes me smile. Yes, I am in love with Frankie magazine. (:
So I've have decided on a colour, yes an actual colour to paint my room! It should be painted pretty soon though, so I shall keep you posted. I realise I've been lacking on that part a bit lately, so sorry about that, you can call up my school and blame them for all the work thay have been giving me if you would like. haha :)
If there are any more takers for the art exchange, please let me know!
Also tell me what you have been up to....

I know you feel it too, these words get overused,

Helloo! So how is everyone? Sorry, this isn't really much of a worthy post but I really needed to ask if there were still some people that want to do the art exchange? It really isn't that hard, i just need more people! See the last few posts for more details and then leave me your email so I can send you what you have to do! I would be very happy if you sign up! (:

Also, has anyone else seen the Splendour in the Grass lineup? It is absolutley amazing. Seriously it is to die for...Lisa Mitchell, Washington, Whitely, Mumford and Sons, Florence and The Machine, Bluejuice, Kate Nash, Angus and Julia Stone. Ahhhh and SO many more. It is practically my playlist.
I hope you guys are all doing well, feel free to leave me a comment, I will return (:
