GOMA, Brisbane.

Truly, this was probably the best, and my most favourite visit to the Gallery of Modern Art in Brisbane so far. Every single exhibition featured in the gallery at the time, (late June) was marvelous.   I was originally only going to see Ron Mueck, but got caught up with everything else along the way.

The Unnerved exhibition was very modern, + exciting and I loved every minute of it!
The work of Ron Mueck was really amazing, my photography here doesn't do it justice! Nevertheless, his work is so life like and surreal, It really is hard to believe that someone sculptured the work entirely themselves.
The Ghost Town part in the Gallery was much fun, which makes sense really as it was meant for children. Building had been structured into a room but distorted in many ways. I loved the wallpaper in the photo showing, I wish I could have wallpaper in my room...
I particularly liked this phrase that was lined up parallel against one of the walls in the gallery. It left me with a feeling, I'm not quite sure what that feeling was, but it got to me, which I think is great, because a lot of the time, isn't that what art is supposed to do? Anyway with bodies morphed into letters made out of aluminium cans the phrase read-

'The route you take lies parallel to the words along these walls you slide along in search of that which might be said each step assured or bored or tremebling to discover finally that only that one foot had followed the other.'

I also visited the Hat Exhibition in the gallery opposite from this one. That in itself was amazing but unfortunately I was unable to take any photos. I am dying to go to the Tim Burton Exhibition in Melbourne before it ends... hopefully I will get the chance!
Has any of my lovely blog readers been to great art exhibitions lately??
